Gift Card Scam & Safety Guide

Gift cards are useful, but scammers often use them because a code can be transferred quickly and may be difficult to recover.

Never pay a stranger with a gift card

Government impersonation, fake support, fake jobs, prize claims, romance scams, and urgent “account repair” requests can all involve gift cards. If someone pressures you to buy a card and send the number or photo, stop.

Do not trust fake generators

A website that creates random characters is not evidence of a working gift card. Google classifies fake generators that claim to provide app-store credit as an example of misleading functionality.

Protect the code

Keep redemption numbers, barcodes, QR codes, receipts, and activation information private. Use the official issuer or retailer support channel if something goes wrong.

Check sponsored offers separately

A sponsored advertisement is not the same as a gift-card issuer. GiftZone99 labels sponsored links so visitors can distinguish advertising from editorial guidance.
